During the week from 18 to 22 April, a meeting of teachers from Poland, Slovakia, Turkey and Slovenia took place. This was the last meeting in our project, which ends with this school year. We had a busy, but satisfying week in Slovenia. The teachers were also educated about project dissemination and, furthermore, they, together with the students of Gastronomy program, prepared the traditional dishes from each country that we presented in public at the Trg svobode square in the center of Slovenj Gradec.

The international training week in Sečovce
From 4th to 9th October 2016, teachers of all partner countries were trained at the Slovakian school. We were acquiring knowledge on the use of the e-twinning and the use of IT-tools for teaching CLIL. During the meeting at the school a number of students and teachers’ activities - related to our project - were held. We were observing a CLIL lesson on mixed drinks performed by Lucia Mikulova, an English teacher. The students also presented the Slovakian traditional dishes as well as their traditional dances. We spent a lovely week at the Slovakian school and the next time we’re meeting in April in Slovenia.

The international education week in Fethiye, Turkey
From 11th to 16th April 2016 we met again in Fethiye, located on the southwest coast of Turkey. The teachers from Poland, Slovakia, Turkey and Slovenia spent a very exciting week working together again. This time we were educated on methods and tools of evaluation (evaluation means gathering information about our project and assessing its suitability).
We spent one morning preparing traditional Turkish dishes with the students from Fethiye High School. It was a special experience as the Turkish cuisine is pretty much different from the Polish, Slovakian and Slovenian.
We were observing a CLIL lesson performed by the Turkish English teacher Mehmet. We were pleasantly surprised by the respectful and polite attitude of students to teachers, as well as their enthusiasm and response in the classroom.
During the visit of the director of education in Fethiye, we were pretty much impressed when we were told that there's been a campus built in the suburbs, where all the schools from the center of the city are going to be moved to.
During the meeting in Fethiye the Slovakian teem presented to other teams how to create a language passport. You can find the presentation from this link.
The Turkish team have proved to be excellent hosts and full of beautiful impressions after a wonderful week spent in Fethiye we were returning home on Sunday.

We met in Poland
for the second time
During the first week of December the teachers from all the participating countries were together in Bielsko Biała again learning about the methods and tools of CLIL. The lessons as well as the workshops were conducted by dr Barbara Loranc-Paszylk, the lecturer at the University of Bielsko Biała.
With Polish teachers and students we were together at the school’s workshop. We were shown how to prepare some traditional Polish dishes like Pierogi, Krokiety and Gołąbki, and were invited to help in the kitchen, which was a wonderful experience. We were also observing a CLIL lesson at the Polish school, prepared by the Polish project team.
The Turkish teachers presented the evaluation tools to be brought into use during our project meetings as well as the FB profile of the project. The Slovakian teachers presented the other schools how to make the Europass Language Passport while the Slovenian teachers presented a programme to make promotional materials. We were also discussing our project website as well as the e-twinning activities related to our project.
We all look forward to the next meeting, which is going to take place at the beginning of April in Turkey.

Our first meeting
The first meeting took place in Bielsko Biała
at the Zespołu Szkoł Gastronomicznyh i Handlowych
During our first meeting, which took place on 15th and 16th October, all the partners met for the first time. We were discussing the activities as well as the tasks of each school planned to be carried out. We were also discussing the manual that we are going to create during the project – the manual for teaching gastronomy students English. We all stressed the importance of gastronomy school students to become good English speakers in order to be prepared well for the labour market.
The meeting was passing quickly due to the excellent atmosphere and great hospitality of the host school project team. During the next meeting, which is going to take place at the beginning of December, all the participating teachers will be educated in CLIL methods and tools.
